........The murals at the Khrung Thonburi Audience Hall, in the Ancient City, in Samutprakarn depict the life and works of King Taksin the Great of the Thonburi dynasty. They were executed by artists in the Ninth Reign of the Rattanakosin period who studied the art style of the pre-Rattanakosin period and applied the techniques exactly as used by Thai artists of the late Ayudhaya period. The palette consists of red ocre, black pigment from charcoal soot, and yellow earth pigment. The murals are tempera painting mixed with glue and were executed according to ancient practices. The work was completed within approximately one year.
